About Tamano Farm
Tucked away, up a beaten track and nestled among the veteran Scots Pine trees, Tamano (the old knoll) is a tranquil 6-acre small holding. Andrew and Ralph first stumbled on the place in September 2017 and knew straight away that we would love to live here. In December we moved in and experienced the snowiest winter in decades and our life long adventure started…

Both passionate about the environment we fell in love with the work the previous owners had carried out over the last 40 years. The planting, the design and the care and attention that has gone into Tamano over the years makes it such a unique and special place, and one you may not want to leave.
After a very busy winter, long nights and lots of hard work, we opened up the lodge in March 2018 to our first guests. We’ve been lucky enough to host some amazing guests and look forward to doing so for many years to come. We’ve also been lucky enough to have some great reviews, this one captures how we feel about the place too:

Following on from an unexpectedly successful summer, in November 2018 (a few months behind scheduled) we finished our wee retreat - the Shepherd’s Hut. The hut was hand crafted in Kinross, just 20 miles from Tamano, using locally sourced timber, fully insulated and with a cosy wood burning stove. We wanted to create a sense of luxury, whilst still experiencing nature.
Nestled away in a quiet tree lined corner, overlooking the donkeys paddock, the shepherd’s hut offers a tranquil and private getaway for couples or small families. With its own wood fired hot tub, outdoor shower and kitchen, the shepherd hut is already proving to be a favourite with guests who are looking for something special.
We have lots of ideas for Tamano and we are slowly putting them to reality, this really is a lifetime project and we hope to share it with you!
